Biography
Robin Christian has over 23 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse, and 18 years as a Family Nurse Practitioner. She is currently an associate professor of nursing at the University of Mississippi Medical Center School of Nursing. She is an accredited trainer certified reviewer for the Joanna Briggs Institute Comprehensive Systematic Review Training Program, Adelaide, Australia.
Robin is the creator and convener of the UMMC SON Evidence Based Practice and Research Team: An Affiliate Center of the Joanna Briggs Institute (JBI). Robin was also instrumental in creating a unique partnership between a Health Quality Organization and the UMMC SON. The school of nursing is collaborating with Information and Quality Healthcare (IQH), creating an annual IQH Fellowship program.
Robin is the project director for a 3 year, $2.1 million dollar, Nursing Education HRSA grant. The grant project, Integrated Behavioral Health Program, developed a nursing education program in collaboration with interprofessional teams to provide integrated behavioral health care with telehealth capacity to individuals with multiple chronic conditions.
Her passion and goal of professional activities is the elimination of health disparities through nursing innovation. She is an active member of several professional organizations, including the American Nurses’ Association, the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners, Mississippi Nurses’ Association. A member of the Beta Alpha Chapter of the Sigma Theta Tau honorary, Christian is a peer reviewer for the Journal for Nurse Practitioners, Gastroenterology Nursing and The Joanna Briggs Database of Systematic Reviews and Implementation Reports.
