Biography
Ashish Anand, MD, DNB, is a Staff Orthopedic Surgeon at VAMC Jackson, Mississippi. He also serves as an Associate Clinical Professor (Adjunct) in the Department of Orthopedics at the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Jackson, MS, and as a Professor (Adjunct) at the William Carey School of Medicine. Dr. Anand dedicates the majority of his time to direct patient care, specializing in adult reconstruction and arthroscopic surgery of the shoulder and knee for the veterans.
In addition to his clinical duties, Dr. Anand is actively involved in teaching residents, medical students, nurses, and physician assistants. His commitment to education extends to conducting clinical outcome studies, keeping him at the forefront of new technology and advancements in orthopedic surgery.
Dr. Anand has made significant contributions to the field through his numerous publications in prestigious national and international journals. He has also presented lectures as a faculty member at both national and international conferences. His scholarly work includes being the lead author of 11 book Chapters and Editor of 17 Books which were published by reputed publishing houses.
Dr. Anand is an active member of various orthopedic societies, including being a life member of the Indian Orthopedic Association, Indian Arthroscopic Association, Indian Arthroplasty Association, and the Indian Society of Hip and Knee Surgeons. He is also an associate member of the American Orthopedic Association. His leadership roles include serving as Vice Chair of the American Board of Physician Specialties (ABPS) Orthopedics and as an Oral Boards Examiner, as well as being a member of the steering committee for the ABPS written exams.
Beyond his professional achievements, Dr. Anand volunteers at his children's school and the Hindu Temple Society of Mississippi. During the COVID-19 pandemic, he ensured continued quality care for veterans through video and telephonic consultations, highlighting his adaptability and commitment to patient care.
