Biography

I am a Professor of Medicine in the Division of Cardiovascular Diseases, whose prior academic appointment was at the Henry Ford Hospital, where I helped establish the adult congenital heart disease clinic prior to entering clinical practice. I was on staff at various hospitals in Jackson, MS: St. Dominic Hospital, Central MS Medical Center, River Oaks Hospital, the Baptist Hospital. I served as director of the P&T committee (Pharmacy and Therapeutics) for the Division of Medicaid, and chairperson of the department of cardiology at St. Dominic Hospital. As a leader and pioneer in the state, becoming the first female interventional cardiologist to practice in Mississippi, I returned to academic cardiology after gaining significant clinical experience in the Jackson, Mississippi area to focus on cardiovascular disease in women.
