Dr. Paul Wise will present the Department of Surgery Field Lectureship, "Trainees and Advanced Practice Providers: Creating Collaboration, Circumventing Conflict," at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 10, in CW106.
The objectives of this lecture include:
Define what is meant by "APPs" (Advanced Practice Providers)
Describe the education pathways and compare team roles for APPs versus surgical trainees
Define the challenges and opportunities of APPs and trainees working together
Describe how APPs can serve as educators for surgical trainees and how surgical programs can "APP-reciate" APPs
