| Alumni, faculty and students celebrated 75 years of nursing education for the UMMC School of Nursing Friday. The first academic nursing program in the state began as part of the School of Medicine in Oxford but moved to Jackson in 1956. The anniversary comes as the school anticipates construction of a new home on the Medical Center campus. |
The American Academy of Pediatrics honored Dr. Scott Benton, director of the Division of Forensic Medicine at the University of Mississippi Medical Center and medical director of the Children’s Safe Center, with its Award for Outstanding Service to Maltreated Children from the AAP Council on Child Abuse and Neglect. | |
