It’s the first time the SON’s Alumni Board has named both an Alumna and an Alumnus of the Year, but the choice was clear: They’re both winners. |
After Rachel Sims’ maternal-fetal medicine specialist spotted a possible heart defect in her unborn baby, things moved fast for her and little Bishop. A multidisciplinary team from the Children’s of Mississippi Heart Center stepped in to begin caring for him, and the Medical Center’s maternal-fetal medicine team prepared Rachel for her third child’s birth. After two surgeries, Bishop is thriving. | |
