Appreciations
Good morning.
It’s been said many times, but never too much – our greatest resource is you, our workforce. Each part of our mission is driven by and can only be successful through your dedication, thoughtfulness and effort.
With Employee Appreciation Week starting Monday, I thought today was a good time to simply say THANK YOU.

Thank you to every coder, physician, carpenter, writer, nurse, therapist, accountant, assistant, officer, researcher, scheduler, volunteer, etc., etc., etc. who wears a UMMC ID badge. Your work – every position/role – is vital to Mississippians, whether they get their education or any part of their health care through UMMC. Their lives are still very much influenced by what you do.
And you do it well. We are experiencing positive momentum in all our strategic endeavors thanks to your determination to improve the lives of your friends, neighbors, colleagues and others you don’t know but for whom you still care.
So, I hope you enjoy as many of next week’s special activities as you can. You’ve earned it (and more) – treats, chair massages, ice cream and popcorn. These fun activities are a small way to say thank you for all you do. I have said before – UMMC is not an easy place to work. We play an important and special role for all of Mississippi. The festivities next week are only an inkling of how much this institution – and the entire state – appreciates you. Because of you, we are daily getting closer to A Healthier Mississippi.
