Moments of Care

Good morning!

Today I’d like to share something that I included in the Fall Faculty Meeting presentation a couple of weeks ago but didn’t mention in last week’s VC Notes.

On Monday, new commercials and creative elements of the Medical Center’s ongoing brand campaign, All for Your Health, debuted across Mississippi. The new commercials, billboards, social media, digital and print ads and updated website take a more focused approach than the initial round in 2022 that included elements of all three of our mission areas. This time, the theme is our trusted patient care. The Medical Center is a place of healing, but it’s also a place of enormous compassion. Time and again, we hear from patients who feel they’ve received not just outstanding medical care but also personal attention that made them feel valued and seen as more than just a customer. What you do for our patients and their families deserves to be highlighted.

What brings me joy with this campaign is that the people featured in our ads are real UMMC patients, faculty and staff – not actors. You’ll see people you know and clinicians our communities trust. This was a more complicated way to produce the commercials, but the extra work was worth it. We hope Mississippians can connect with the finished products in part because they are seeing people just like them and who may even be their neighbors, coworkers or fellow band parents. To amplify patient voices, some of their care and treatment success stories are highlighted on the web here.

Without further ado, the new commercials can be viewed below. I’m confident you’ll enjoy them as much as the attendees at our faculty meeting. I can’t say I remember the last time there were two rounds of applause from faculty at the same meeting!

Keep doing what you’re doing. It matters, and it’s helping move us closer to A Healthier Mississippi.
