Through a generous donation, a physician who made history during and following his years at the Medical Center is showing his appreciation to the institution that helped train him, and particularly to his world-renowned teacher.

Stockings full of surprises, glittering Christmas trees and visits with Santa were all part of the holiday season’s start at the state’s only children’s hospital. A week bedazzled with holiday events brought joy to Children’s of Mississippi inpatients and outpatients thanks to Friends of Children’s Hospital, BankPlus and Ace Hardware.

Mississippians can never have too much information about diabetes. The disease is one of the state’s leading causes of death. Still, certain lifestyle habits can head off what one Medical Center expert calls “one of the most important health problems we have today.”
