A Children’s of Mississippi patient since infancy, Ava Clarke will represent the state’s only children’s hospital and its many patients. Advocating for greater acceptance of the differences that make each person unique will be a facet of her year as Champion. |
| Mississippians from all over the state received free dental care during the School of Dentistry’s eighth annual Dental Mission Week. Thanks to the multi-disciplinary student and faculty volunteer team, over 600 patients smiled a little brighter leaving the event last week. |
Cabinets stocked with protein bars, oatmeal cups, tuna salad kits and boxes of macaroni and cheese are ready at the UMMC School of Nursing for students as well as any staff and faculty members who are facing emergencies. Started in January, the food pantry is also accepting donations. | |

Her upbringing has always informed her attitude toward others – and she draws strength from it even now as she takes on a brand-new position at the Medical Center. |
