| After receiving more than 100 calls and overwhelmingly positive feedback during its month-long trial run, the behavioral response team was elevated to full-time effective July 25, with four police officers patrolling hospital floors, intervening and de-escalating potentially volatile situations to prevent violent incidents. |
Columbus native Dr. Robert Gilbert and neurology chair Dr. Alissa Willis, a graduate of the Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science at Mississippi University for Women, were introduced by professor emeritus and former vice chancellor Dr. James Keeton, who also hails from Columbus.
