Providing care to patients while working to limit the spread of COVID-19 has UMMC and Children's of Mississippi specialists ramping up their telehealth efforts. |
| Each day, nearly 130 UMMC employees are being deployed to different areas to perform duties outside of their normal job scopes as the Medical Center prepares for a surge of COVID-19 patients expected to arrive in the coming weeks. |
When social distancing goes to the next level and Mississippians shelter in place, many people are staying home by choice to help curb the transmission of COVID-19. Routines get a rest, fear becomes a focus and the "new normal" just isn't getting normal. Medical Center experts give advice on how to cope.
| Beginning Tuesday morning, all UMMC employees will be required to wear masks to protect themselves and others from the spread of COVID-19. Medical Center leaders are asking members of the local community to make and donate home-sewn masks so manufactured masks can be conserved for medical professionals on the "front lines" of health care. |
Most events scheduled for March and April at the Medical Center have been cancelled or postponed because of the COVID-19 pandemic. To see the most recent status of events scheduled at the Medical Center, visit the UMMC Intranet.
