It’s in your blood: the solutions to some of our greatest questions on human health and disease. The UMMC Biobank aims to collect specimens from tens of thousands of people in order to create a library that health scientists can use to further their research.

Caregivers at the Medical Center’s weight management program offer individualized treatment to patients coping with obesity, evaluating each to determine whether they are a candidate for bariatric surgery or either non-surgical, pediatric and adult weight management services. The goal is a healthier patient with a healthier lifestyle.

The seven-story children’s hospital expansion at UMMC will mark a new year, a new decade and a new day in pediatric care for Mississippi. Construction work is on schedule to be completed by the middle of summer, with the tower’s opening coming this fall.
