Painful sore throats had been a lifelong problem for Laurel resident Greg Meadows, but a throat cancer diagnosis meant surgery to remove a malignancy in a hard-to-reach area. Instead of cutting through his jaw to access his throat, UMMC surgeons used a flexible robotic device with an attached scope to go through his mouth and wind around to reach the affected area. |
