On Wednesday, the Medical Center welcomed relatives and friends of 150 anatomical donors during a Ceremony of Thanksgiving in the UMMC Cemetery. The observance acknowledged the immeasurable contributions these “first teachers” and “first patients” have made to the education of students pursuing careers in patient care.

Thanks to an anonymous donor, gifts toward the completion of UMMC’s pediatric expansion will go twice as far through the last day of April. Pledges to the Campaign for Children’s of Mississippi will be doubled on Giving TWOsday, April 30, with the goal of raising $250,000.

For opening a new clinic in the Mississippi Delta, UMMC's professor and chair of dermatology is hailed as a "Patient Care Hero," while a billing specialist at the Clinton Billing Office earns the moniker "Workplace Wellness Warrior" by Active Health Management.

Several interesting events are scheduled for the upcoming weeks at the Medical Center.
