A first-of-its-kind clinical trial by a UMMC research team aims to evaluate the effectiveness of aggressive physical therapy as “sensorimotor” training for soccer players. Will fine-tuning their sensory abilities that impact movement and reflexes lessen their risk of leg injury or chance of concussion?

Dr. Robert McGuire is using his decades of experience as a clinician and educator to serve fellow surgeons and a patient population worldwide. He’s just become president of the AO Foundation, an organization that promotes excellence in patient care and outcomes in trauma and musculoskeletal disorders.

Incoming students got a chance to learn more about the Medical Center and each other during last Friday’s 2018 UMMC Campus Engagement Fair. The gathering drew students from all seven schools to the student union, where the newcomers enjoyed live music, food, demonstrations and service opportunities.

Several interesting events are scheduled for the upcoming weeks at the Medical Center.
