| Representatives from three of the South's top academic medical centers gathered at UMMC to discuss solutions to eliminate health disparities in the Delta region. The inaugural Delta Clinical and Translational Science Health Disparities Conference included faculty, staff and students from Tulane University, the University of Tennessee Health Science Center and UMMC. |
Veteran health care administrator Wes Sigler said he sees lots of opportunities for improving the patient experience and building on the strengths of UMMC’s hospital campuses in Grenada and Lexington. He began his new role in May after leading North Mississippi Medical Center’s Eupora branch; during the last two decades, he has served in administration and finance roles in Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee. | |
| Wrap last Tuesday afternoon in maroon and white: MSU head football coach Joe Moorhead brought members of his team, cheerleaders and MSU mascot Bully to visit patients at Batson Children’s Hospital. Coloring pictures with patients, signing autographs and talking football were part of the fun in what has become an annual pre-football season visit to the state’s only children’s hospital. |
