Ongoing campus improvements resulting from the Children's of Mississippi expansion project are creating a navigation headache on the south side of UMMC's campus. Medical Center officials are confident that In the long term, the brand new facility will be well worth the short-term inconvenience.

The Health Innovation and Transformation Center’s objective is to support and encourage ideas that help “move the needle” towards a healthier Mississippi. Officially recognized last month, the HIT Center will leverage UMMC's greatest assets to confront the state’s biggest challenges.

Lauryn Mendrop, senior nursing student and school philanthropy chair, had the idea to pit School of Nursing faculty Dr. LaDonna Northington against Dr. Josie Bidwell in a heated competition to determine who will rappel off the 14-story Trustmark Building in downtown Jackson for the Over The Edge fundraiser for Friends of Children’s Hospital.

Medical Center leadership is proud to acknowledge those employees who will celebrate service anniversaries during the week of March 26-April 1.
