Families were reunited with their UMMC care team members during an afternoon with Santa and Mrs. Claus. The reunion, which filled the BankPlus Community Room at the Kathy and Joe Sanderson Tower, included carols and Christmastime treats.

Landon Forbes and Lily Reed, who both had hearing in one ear, now can hear in both ears after surgery and activation of Sentio, an active transcutaneous bone conduction hearing system approved by the FDA earlier this year.

It just so happens that some of the Medical Center’s most historic moments were recorded on film, including groundbreaking surgical procedures. For many years, these images and others were stored away and forgotten, but have now come to light and are part of “Mississippi Medical History Online: The UMMC Digital Collections Initiative.” They, along with other artifacts, are being made available for viewing – for scholars, researchers and the general public alike.
