Note to former NFL players: Don’t “pass” on regular health checks

You’re a former NFL player living in Mississippi, and injuries you suffered decades ago on the field might still be making life miserable. Or, you are injury-free, but other chronic conditions can be life-threatening. And, it could be that because you feel fine, you’re not getting regular checkups like you should. The National Football League Players Association, the Living Heart Foundation and UMMC’s University Heart partnered Saturday to offer those athletes an array of health evaluations to give them good information on what areas of their health need attention.
