Two exceptional graduates of the School of Medicine and 11 more eminent Medical Center figures and leading lights were given their due last week during the UMMC Medical Alumni Awards Dinner. The occasion illuminated the careers of two years’ worth of honorees. In research, education and patient care, their contributions resonate across Mississippi and beyond.

Being grateful after 2020 and 2021 might seem like a big pill to swallow – but it doesn’t have to be a bitter one. Medical Center experts say finding reasons to be thankful not only has mental and physical health benefits, but offers a chance to reflect on the good things in our lives.

Happily, their fictional patient was successfully diagnosed and treated, the world being saved in the process.
