International expertise at Children’s of Mississippi brought a better quality of life to Levi D’Anjou II. Dr. Makram Ebeid, director of pediatric interventional cardiology and the pediatric catheterization lab at UMMC and a pediatric cardiologist, worked to get an FDA waiver for a device used in Europe that would increase the amount of oxygen in the 9-year-old’s blood, giving him more energy.
