The Medical Center continues to see record numbers of patients with confirmed or suspected COVID-19. That means members of clinical and leadership teams must make decisions on where to safely place them while at the same time balancing the capacity needs of the state's only Level I trauma center and sole source for many fields of specialty care.

The Mississippi Centre for Evidence-Based Practice in the School of Nursing is only the second nursing school-affiliated program in the United States to receive this prestigious designation with the Cochrane network.

Arriving at UMMC within a few months of each other, two cardiac subspecialists - called electrophysiologists - are here to make life more convenient and safe for patients whose conditions demand a particularly high level of care: arrhythmia. In the short time they've been here, their knowledge and commitment are already making a difference.
