Two years ago, Greenwood resident Michael Jordan slowly began to lose the ability to breathe and to swallow. Doctor after doctor couldn’t diagnose his mystery disease, and he spent his 40th birthday in the ICU. On a ventilator at Methodist Specialty Care Center, Jordan was finally diagnosed by Dr. Saurabh Shukla, a UMMC neurologist, and the rest, as they say, is history. |
| UMMC’s AirCare, the state’s most advanced medical helicopter transport program, is enhancing its clinical, research and education expertise through a new collaboration with Med-Trans. That company will focus on the business side, including providing three of four helicopters, pilots, equipment and maintenance services for AirCare, which flies to all corners of the state. |
