Access to urgent care for non-emergency illnesses isn’t a given in Mississippi’s rural areas. A new, free app developed by C Spire in conjunction with the Medical Center will remotely connect anyone in the state with a caregiver from UMMC’s Center for Telehealth. Patients can use a smartphone or WiFi-enabled tablet or computer to access a live video appointment priced at $59. |
| Proceeds from the Sidney and Friends Fund will support the Child Life Program at Children’s of Mississippi, just as the children's hospital is poised to grow. The therapeutic play, education and preparation for procedures the program provides for patients and their families will be aided by the Allen family and Friends of Children’s Hospital, early supporters of child life at UMMC. |
