The Medical Center celebrated its newest research facility Aug. 30: A state-of-the-art unit dedicated to clinical studies. Five years in the making, the CRTU embodies the intersection of UMMC’s health care and research missions.

The Center for Telehealth is dedicated to giving Mississippians access to much-needed patient care, whether from a primary care provider or a specialist. A recent accreditation awarded by URAC, a national nonprofit organization, means UMMC's telehealth services meet a high bar and demonstrate a proven commitment to quality.

Dr. Roya Attar, a UMMC optometrist, wants her patients to know there are options besides reading glasses. For Crystal Lawshe, the transition from readers to multifocal contact lenses has made her daily life more convenient.

Several interesting events are scheduled for the upcoming weeks at the Medical Center.
