UMMC’s pediatric expansion is scheduled to open in fall 2020, but plans for moving into the state-of-the-art facility are being made now. Leaders from among Children’s of Mississippi and UMMC are working to identify and coordinate key tasks that will help orchestrate a seamless transition that will make the most of the new seven-story tower.

As the Medical Center increases its clinical research capabilities, a new office aims to streamline regulatory processes, offer training and improve volunteer recruitment for clinical trials as part of UMMC's quest to make a healthier Mississippi.

Chances are, few at UMMC play the accordion, speak four languages or produce aorta models on a 3D printer. Dr. Frank Han, cardiology fellow, does them all. A native of China who grew up In Britain, Han enjoys Irish step dancing, the Spanish salsa and playing classic French folk songs on the accordion. No wonder he calls himself, “A man of the United Nations.”
