A new location for the CAY with four times as much space as in its old facility will allow pediatric experts to provide care to more children with behavioral and developmental conditions. The new clinic site in northeast Jackson’s Highland Bluff Building will enhance endeavors in research and education that leaders say will result in better outcomes for children and their families.

The School of Graduate Studies in the Health Sciences hosted its first white coat ceremony last Thursday. For 21 incoming Ph.D. students, the school's premier event marked the beginning of their careers as biomedical researchers.

A personal experience with organ donation has given Miss Mississippi Mary Margaret Hyer the inspiration to make the gift of life her platform as she prepares for the Miss America competition. Hyer visited with the transplant team and chatted with patients awaiting a transplant or who received an abdominal organ during an Aug. 8 visit to UMMC.
