Heart disease is the leading cause of death nationally for most ethnicities. But no matter how complex the disease, adult congenital heart patients can trust UMMC's expertise: The Medical Center is one of just 29 ACH programs to be accredited as Comprehensive Care Centers by the Adult Congenital Heart Association.

Even those who know the purpose of an advance directive, or living will, may be put off by mistaken beliefs about them. Two experts at the University of Mississippi Medical Center explain what these end-of-life documents do and don’t provide, and how they can ease the burden down the road for yourself and your loved ones.

UMMC employees and students celebrated Public Health Week with a variety of activities that encouraged healthy eating, physical activity and overall well-being. Activities included a "Pups and Pops" event with Deep South Pops, a National Walking Day jaunt through campus, an on-campus farmers’ market, and more.
