It's been five years since UMMC began its relationship with then-county-owned Grenada Lake Medical Center. The hospital has recruited specialists from urology to orthopaedic surgery and added equipment and physical facilities to make UMMC Grenada a regional health care leader.

The Dental Hygiene Class of 2020 at UMMC will be the first in Mississippi to be trained in administering local anesthesia to patients, thanks to a special request by Dr. David Felton, dean of the School of Dentistry, to the Mississippi State Board of Dental Examiners.

Not one to slow down, Dr. Gary Reeves, professor emeritus and former dean of the School of Dentistry, switched gears completely upon retirement. He fulfilled a lifelong dream to not only own, but to also build an airplane, completing his four-seater Zenair CH 801 in spring 2018.

Several interesting events are scheduled for the upcoming weeks at the Medical Center.
