| Dr. Elizabeth Carr, a dental hygiene faculty member since 2006 and a three-time recipient of UMMC’s Norman C. Nelson Order of Teaching Excellence Award, has been named chair of dental hygiene. She will take over for Dr. Beckie Barry, who served as chair for 15 years and is retiring at the end of the year. |
UMMC's Department of Emergency Medicine led a national study to test a new treatment for septic shock. The results were published in JAMA Network Open on Dec. 21. The clinical trial is among the first to use an adaptive design, a new strategy endorsed by the Food and Drug Administration. | |
