The 2018 Gurney Races, a fast paced competition full of highs and lows, saw the Smooth Operators overtake Preemie Powers for the win. The Golden Stethoscope now resides in the 7th floor surgical suite of Batson Children's Hospital until teams fight for the chance to claim it next year.

While he was in graduate school, Dr. Amol Janorkar tried a bold experiment: to learn how to become an outstanding teacher. Its findings were confirmed resoundingly more than a decade later at UMMC when he was summoned to receive the 2018 Regions TEACH Prize.
