Patients who try to get appointments to see UMMC providers shouldn’t experience less than admirable service. An additional access center for scheduling aims to improve communication and better prepare schedulers to get patients where they need to go with a smile - even if the patients can’t see it.

Spotting the Children’s of Mississippi logo atop Batson Children’s Hospital, Cece Stansell began praying for the patients under that rainbow on her way to school each day. The 7-year-old’s concern inspired her family to donate $1.5 million toward the expansion of pediatric care at UMMC.

Superhero gear, princess gowns and board games scored plenty of smiles from patients as 21 Lady Rebels stopped in for a visit at Batson Children’s Hospital on their way to play Southeast Louisiana State on Wednesday.

The University of Mississippi Medical Center garnered 46 new and renewed grants and awards during October-December 2017 totaling $9,198,823.
