As the city of Jackson’s problems with burst water pipes and low water pressure continue, rendering UMMC's clinics at the Jackson Medical Mall virtually inoperable, Medical Center administrators and many employees are working around the clock to ensure patients get the services they need.

The new chair of the Department of Family Medicine was brought up in a small town that remains a large presence in her life. Her faith has taught Dr. Shannon Pittman Moore to be thankful; her family has taught her to be respectful. Every day, these lessons direct her dealings with others, especially her patients.
