Dr. Nandi is currently an Assistant Professor and clinical and research faculty member in the Department of Emergency Medicine at UMMC. Dr. Nandi received his M.D. from Weill Cornell Medical College in Qatar in 2012. He completed his EM residency at UMMC where he served as chief resident. He recently completed a 2-year research fellowship and UMMC’s 2-year Master of Science in Clinical Investigation degree program in 2018. Dr. Nandi has been a part of the department’s Research and Program Evaluation committees since his residency. As part of these committees, he has focused on resident education and asynchronous learning, as well as residency program outreach and recruitment. His research focus during residency was on the diagnostic and prognostic value of various vital signs in sepsis patients. His research focus during fellowship has been on fluid resuscitation and endothelial glycocalyx damage in sepsis patients along with biomarker evaluation in sepsis patients. Dr. Nandi has also served as site co-investigator on multiple multi-center clinical trials evaluating venous thromboembolism, heart failure, acute lung injury and sepsis resuscitation. He was recently selected to serve as one of the clinical trialists for the newly developed UMMC Clinical Trials and Research Unit in partnership with the Mayo Clinic. Dr. Nandi also serves as the co-chair of the department’s Diversity & Inclusion Committee. He is a member of the institutional working group on resilience in stressful events (RISE).
