SUMMARY:Department of Otolaryngology – Head and Neck Surgery Seminar
LOCATION:CPN102-31 - Colony Park North
DESCRIPTION:Andrea F. Lewis, MD, professor and director of sleep surgery, will present the Department of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery Seminar, "Optimizing the OSA Care Pathway: An All-Specialty Perspective," at noon Wednesday, Sept. 2, in CPN102-31 (large conference room) at Colony Park North.Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) is common, and all providers play an important role in identifying symptoms and helping patients navigate diagnosis, treatment and long-term management. As awareness of OSA grows and many patients struggle with or discontinue CPAP therapy, understanding available treatment pathways and referral options is increasingly important. This session will explore a multidisciplinary approach to OSA management, including identifying patients at risk, facilitating timely referrals, understanding treatment alternatives and supporting patients throughout their treatment journey. Dr. Lewis will discuss the burden of untreated OSA, challenges with CPAP adherence, current treatment options and the importance of coordinated care across specialties.
