DESCRIPTION:Jimmie Wells, MSN, RN, OCN, of the Cancer Center and Research Institute will lead an Oncology Certification Exam Prep Course at 7:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 1, in Room SM122 in the School of Medicine, .At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:Identify prevention, early detection and the science of cancer.Recognize treatment and system management strategies for patients with a cancer diagnosis.Identify quality-of-life issues related to a cancer diagnosis.Identify professional practice standards for oncology nursing.Apply the OCN® exam blueprint and test-taking strategies to prepare for the certification exam.
