University of Mississippi Medical Center, University of Tennessee Health Science Center and Tulane University faculty, staff and students are invited to attend the 2nd Annual Delta Clinical and Translational Science Health Disparities Conference.
The event will bring together faculty, staff and students from three of the South's top academic medical centers to learn, share and transform ideas into solutions to eliminate health disparities in the Delta region. The conference will feature keynote presentations from each institution, as well as a poster session and a networking session.
The event will be held from 9:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m. Monday, Aug. 19, 2019, on the UMMC campus in Jackson.
The deadline to register is Monday, Aug. 12, 2019.
As part of your registration, you will be asked to respond to several questions regarding your research interests. The data you provide will allow us to create a secure, searchable database where health disparities investigators from each campus can search for and view research profiles of conference attendees. Upon completion of your registration, you will receive and e-mail confirmation that includes a link to the researcher database with directions on how to use it.
If you cannot attend the conference but are interested in a collaboration, please complete the online registration sharing your research interests so that you can find collaborators and they can find you. More details on how to search for collaborators will be given once you complete registration.
Researchers from all disciplines are encouraged to deliver a three-minute lecture from 11 a.m.-noon. Selected researchers will have three minutes to discuss their research and opportunities for collaboration and can have up to three slides to present during the lecture. The deadline for slides is Wednesday, Aug. 14..
Posters should measure approximately 4.5’x3’ and be delivered to conference Rooms A-D at the Student Union at UMMC between 9-10:15 a.m. Aug. 19. A UMMC representative will be on-site to assist you with poster delivery and set-up. You may only register to present either a three-minute lecture or a poster. Participants will not be able to register for both.
